Children Swimming Rules – Children 9 years old and under must have a 16 year old or older guardian in the pool area.  Children 10 -13 must have a 16 year old or older guardian inside the YMCA.

Swim Lessons – We currently offer swimming lesson classes for all ages. These classes are designed to get students comfortable in the water while developing stroke technique and basic rescue skills. Classes build a sense of personal safety and growth for the students. These 5-session classes are typically scheduled for 2 days per week during the school year and whole weeks in the summer months. We keep a log of everyone that is interested in a class and when we have enough signed-up we will schedule a class.  Call or come by the Y to get on the list.

Per USA Swimming, children who take formal swim lessons are 88% less likely to have a drowning accident.

We also offer advanced, individual lessons for students 10 years of age and older to improve swimming strokes and work to achieve personal goals. The advanced classes are currently scheduled on an individual basis to meet the needs of students.
Scout Swimming – The YMCA is proud to make its pool available to local Boy, Girl and Cub Scout units. This opportunity gives Scouts and units a chance to complete swimming requirements for rank advancement and merit badges outside of the summer camp season.

Water Aerobics – Classes are aimed at toning the muscles using water weights. Participants may work out at their own pace, and the instructor will give modifications during class. This type of low-impact exercise uses muscles throughout the entire body. The class has a variety of men and women of all adult ages. Classes are currently scheduled for Mondays 8am-9, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am-9 and 6pm-7.

Kayak Roll Practice – The YMCA is happy to open our pool to local kayak enthusiasts for roll and paddle practice. This is a great opportunity, especially during the winter months, to sharpen your skills in preparation for the spring and summer boating season.
